These paintings were painted 'en plein air,' a french term simply meaning they were painted outdoors and from life. You may see larger paintings similar to these on the 'Other Studio Paintings' page. Sometimes a plein air piece just wants me to make it into a larger piece, and I'll rearange some elements or color notes to try and improve the composition or just the overall painting.
